Digital Mammography
This
digital technology
offers the capability to acquire images in near-real time and to process
them (variation of Brightness and Contrast levels, Auto-windowing,
and Image Manipulation).
It also offers high exam productivity, and the higher DQE suggests
the possiblity that mammograms maybe taken at a lower radiation
dose, particularly in dense breasted women.

Senographe 2000D leverages the tube's Rhodium spectrum which is best
adapted to Digital Imaging and is equipped with the Revolution™
flat panel digital detector, which is the result of 10 years of GE's
research efforts and intensive collaboration with many of the
world's leading clinicians and physicists.

Senographe 2000D comes with an Acquisition Workstation that will
immediately display the acquired digital images in the room on a
monitor. It provides a 'quick check' for technologists of
positioning and possible motion blur.
The operator console is intuitive and automates many steps. The
system eliminates photocell placement because the Revolution™
Digital Detector's small pixels identify the densest portion of the
breast for phototiming (AutoCell). Once the laterality of the breast
is indicated, the digital system identifies all other parameters and
places a digital marker permanently on the image (AutoMark). This
enables the technologist to focus on the patient rather than the
system.
Senographe 2000D also has an image Review Workstation. This powerful
computer is equipped with two dedicated, very high resolution
monitors and a dedicated operator keypad, all designed to optimize
efficiency.
With this, the physician can quickly review images and diagnose
them
directly on the Review Workstation.
'Soft Copy Reading' has been approved by FDA on November 13th, 2000.
